When the world goes to bed, silence abounds whether in the city or the quiet country town. I write, draw or paint, at my desk I am found and the telephone doesn't make a sound. I caught the habit when I ran a shop where I created fashions for brides. During the day customers would stop my progress, so at night, behind locked doors I'd reside. The local police would call by the shop and when I went home they followed me to our corner, before turning back. I was so looked after!
Night-time/early morning, 9pm to 3am is still my most productive time whether formatting or illustrating a book for a writer or myself. These days I find the life in this country town without shops extends my creative time.
