Writing prompt No. 14

A weekly writing exercise to get you started

Choose one sentence from the opening paragraph of the novel you are currently reading, and use it to begin your story. Here’s mine from The Tribune’s Curse by John Maddox Roberts: “If you are supremely happy, the gods have it in for you.”
