Congratulations to the 2011 Short-Story Contest winners!

The Writer is pleased to announce the winners of the 2011 Short-Story Contest:
• First place: "My Brother's Wife" by Holly Warah of Dubai, United Arab Emirates
• Second place: "A Blue Day, With a Chance of Bubbles" by Adele Gibson of Gin Gin, Queensland, Australia
• Third place: "A Gift From God" by Kevin Warren of Cora, Wyoming
Warah's story will appear in the February 2012 issue of The Writer, which comes out in early January. All three stories will be posted online at that time.

The Writer would also like to thank finalist judge Michelle Wildgen for her hard work and assistance, and Gotham Writers' Workshop for partnering with us for the contest.
