Congratulations to the winners of our 2011 Essay/Memoir Contest!

The Writer is pleased to announce the winners of the 2011 Essay/Memoir Contest:
• First place: "Dear Jack Kerouac" by David Joshua Jennings, Yukon, Okla.
• Second place: "Baking Day" by Janet Jensen of Logan, Utah
• Third place: "Learning to Adjust" by Caitlin Leffel of New York, N.Y.
Jenning's story will appear in the July 2012 issue of The Writer, which comes out in early June. All three stories will be posted online at that time. |
The Writer would also like to thank finalist judge Lee Gutkind, founder and editor of the journal Creative Nonfiction for his assistance, and Gotham Writers' Workshop
for partnering with us for the contest.
