Fall Conference attracts hundreds of writers from around the country and provides a weekend full of activities that include lunch and dinner banquets with readings, keynotes, tracks in several genres, a meet-and-greet cocktail party with New York editors and agents, open mike sessions for participants, entertainment, a bookstore, and the opportunity for one-on-one manuscript critiques with New York editors or agents. Conference faculty include professional writers from North Carolina and beyond.
Edith Pearlman, author of Binocular Vision, the winner of the 2011 National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction and a Finalist for the National Book Award, will give the keynote address.
Instructors include Jill McCorkle (Fiction), Elaine Neil Orr (Creative Nonfiction), and Kathryn Stripling Byer (Poetry), as well as Shane Ryan (Humor Writing), Maureen Sherbondy (Poetry), Susan Woodring (Fiction), and many more.
