Submit a previously unpublished collection of short stories of at least 150 words. Manuscripts that have been published in periodicals are not eligible. Authors cannot have a published book of fiction. Submit between Aug. 1 and Sept. 30 by regular mail only.
Submit an original, unpublished short story of no more than 2,500 words. Must be a resident of the U.S. and at least 21 years old. Send in via regular mail only.
Entries must be previously unpublished and fiction entries should be no longer than 25 typed, double-spaced pages. Poetry entries can include any number of poems up to 10 pages. Submit via Submittable or regular mail (make sure to mark outside of envelope “Fiction” or “Poetry”).
Held every Labor Day weekend, entrants are challenged to produce a novel in three days. Finished works are submitted via mail for judging. Outlines created before the three days are permitted but all writing must be done in the timeframe. Preregister by mail by the Friday before the contest.
