Read these 2019 Nebula award-winning authors

Last night the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America announced the winners of the 2019 Nebula Awards. Here are four of the winners to add to your TBR pile.

Young Adult Science Fiction or Fantasy: Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

Debut author Tomi Adeyemi entered the publishing world with a bang: Children of Blood and Bone, the first book in her Legacy of Orisha trilogy, was an instant New York Times best-seller and landed on a wealth of “Best YA Books of 2018” lists from NPR, Buzzfeed, Bustle, Time, Publishers Weekly, School Library Journal, and more. Adeyemi made headlines first with a six-figure book deal from Macmillan, only to have the film rights almost immediately scooped up by Fox 2000 in another impressive acquisition. The second book in Adeyemi’s trilogy is set to release in June; the film adaptation is currently in production, with Adeyemi and David Magee (Life of Pi, Finding Neverland) writing the screenplay and Rick Famuyiwa (Dope, The Wood) set to direct.
