Midway through the year, we rounded up the best-selling novels of 2018 thus far. While researching the article, we were surprised at how many nonfiction books dominated the Amazon adult best-seller charts, and the late 2018 charts are no exception. As of today, the top novel on the list, Kevin Kwan’s Crazy Rich Asians, doesn’t even appear on the charts until the 21st slot. But Kwan’s best-selling novel-turned-blockbuster was originally published in 2014; the book’s film adaptation clearly drove record sales this year. So we wondered: which novels published in 2018 sold the most copies this year?
In descending order, here are the top-selling novels of 2018 according to Amazon.
5. The Great Alone by Kristen Hannah
Kristen Hannah’s novel The Great Alone made waves long before its February 2018 publication date, making appearances on numerous “Most Anticipated Books of 2018” lists before the year even began. Hannah, author of the #1 New York Times best-selling novel The Nightingale, delivers a tale of family and survival in the remote Alaskan wilderness in The Great Alone. An Amazon Best Book of the Month, the novel received praise from a number of publications, including a starred review from Kirkus that called the work “a tour de force.”
