2. Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

Our second bestselling novel of early 2019 has a few things in common with Where the Crawdads Sing: Both were published last summer, both are debut novels from female authors, and both were selected as picks for Reese Witherspoon’s book club. And both titles may be receiving the bound-for-Hollywood sales bump: Witherspoon has signed on to produce film adaptations for both Where the Crawdads Sing and Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. The latter book stars a woman who struggles in social situations, preferring to spend life at home with vodka and frozen pizza – until she meets Raymond, a bumbling coworker with a huge heart. “Sweet and satisfying, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine will speak to introverts who have ever felt a little weird about their place in the world,” says Bustle.
