Two CIA secretaries during the Cold War are given a special assignment: Smuggle Doctor Zhivago out of the USSR to share the novel with the world. Author Laura Prescott, whose work has appeared in The Southern Review and The Hudson Review, among others, won the 2016 Crazyhorse Fiction Prize for the first chapter of The Secrets We Kept.
