An Orchestra of Minorities by Chigozie Obioma (January 8)
The first title on our list is the only one you won’t have to preorder: Released on January 8, Nigerian author Chigozie Obioma’s second book has already nabbed rave reviews from the Guardian, Shelf Awareness, Booklist, Kirkus, and Publisher’s Weekly, among others. Obioma’s debut novel, The Fishermen, was a finalist for the Man Booker Prize in 2015 and was translated into 26 languages.
Already named as one of Amazon’s Best Books of January 2019, An Orchestra of Minorities was called “gorgeously written, with a twist of magical realism and a heavy dose of sad reality, this is your big novel of the winter” by the Washington Post.
