2013: The Orphan Master’s Son by Adam Johnson
…And we’re back! Blessedly, the Pulitzer board did see fit to give out an award for fiction in 2013, which went to Adam Johnson for his novel set in North Korea. In addition to the Pulitzer, the book also won the Dayton Literary Peace Prize and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. “This is a novel worth getting excited about,” wrote The Washington Post.
