Read the books that inspired these classic 5 horror movies

These horror novels are even scarier than the films they inspired.

If you’ve ever seen The Ring, chances are you still can’t get the image of Daveigh Chase as Samara crawling out of Naomi Watts’ television out of your mind. The 2002 American movie was a remake of a 1998 Japanese film entitled Ringu, which in turn was based on a novel called Ring by best-selling Japanese author Koji Suzuki. Suzuki’s initial book debuted in 1991, but the story ultimately became a trilogy; the Ring books have sold more than eight million copies to date.
