Description

Nimrod International Journal of Prose and Poetry will host its annual Conference for Readers and Writers at The University of Tulsa and the Tulsa Historical Society on October 18th and 19th, 2019.

The Conference offers the opportunity to hear from and work with dozens of distinguished authors. This year’s participants include fiction writer Margot Livesey, poets Jeanetta Calhoun Mish and Kim Addonizio, photographer and nonfiction writer Rhys Martin, young adult author Anna-Marie McLemore, mystery writer Rachel Hall, and literary agent Jennifer Udden. They will join over thirty other writers and editors.

The Conference begins with Write Night on Friday, October 18th, at the Tulsa Historical Society at 6:30 p.m. Write Night is free and open to the public and will begin with a reception of light bites and a cash bar at 6:30 p.m. Following at 7:00 p.m. will be an Author Chat, reading, and book signing with Margot Livesey and Kim Addonizio, co-hosted by Booksmart Tulsa.

The Conference continues on Saturday, October 19th at The University of Tulsa’s Allen Chapman Student Union at 9:30 a.m. The all-day event will feature writing workshops, readings, panel discussions, one-on-one editing sessions, and novel pitch critique sessions. Each is designed to stimulate ideas and discussion and to inspire and improve participants’ own writing. Not only will participants be able to attend classes with award-winning authors, but they will be able to interact with them on a personal level.
