Description
The premier writers conference in the DC area is the annual BOOKS ALIVE! Washington Writers Conference, organized by the nonprofit Washington Independent Review of Books
Every registrant will have the opportunity to speed-pitch their fiction or nonfiction book to literary agents (up to 3 per registrant) — over 20 literary agents are scheduled to attend, including:
Hillary Jacobson (ICM Partners). Ellen Geiger (Frances Goldin Literary Agency), Mark Gottlieb (Trident Media Group) Sarah Phair (Trident Media Group), and Roger Williams (Roger Williams Agency). Editors and publishers including Ron Charles, Washington Post Book World fiction editor, are among the many panels. Noted authors include: Michael Dirda, Susan Coll, Jack Farrell, David Finkel, Marita Golden, Neely Tucker, Tom Shroder, Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, David O. Stewart, Dana A. Williams, Leslie Pietrzyk, Mary Kay Zuravleff, and dozens more. A luncheon, included in the registration, will feature legendary writer Judith Viorst, renowned for her Alexander series of children’s books, including Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, as the keynote speaker.
