Admission Fees
Fees run from as little as $129 per day to $399 for the weekend at the door. Gold packages are $495, which include all three days, both Keynote Addresses with complimentary light lunch and beverages, plus Advanced Submissions read of part of your work for two professional editors, or one attending literary agent are included. Scholarships are available to libraries and industry professionals. Early Bird Discounts available.
Description
The Greater Los Angeles Writers Conference presents a full weekend of panels, workshops and presentations by educators, noted speakers, and industry professionals focused on the craft and business of writing.
This conference differentiates itself by presenting individual program streams for (what we call the 3-A’s) ASPIRING, ACTIVE, and ACCOMPLISHED writers. Topics are offered in progressive streams, so you are immersed all weekend in an exciting and educational environment. Chose your level of participation and areas of interest, and crossover to other levels at any time. Speakers and panelists are selected based on who is best suited to the curriculum, so you get the most informed workshops and presentations. Along with perennial favorites, we include important new voices and industry experts.
You may also submit portions of an unfinished manuscript in advance for review by professional editors through the optional ProCritiques™ program, or the Masters ProCritiques™ program with literary agents and publishers. This advance submission program is a popular, cost-effective way to receive one-on-one constructive, Details and Learn more here … professional feedback on your novel or screenplay, and increase chances for success.
WC2 also offers ProConsultations, which are opportunities for authors with completed, polished manuscripts to pitch literary agents and publishers in search of new talent. NO speed dating. We even offer an informative seminar on Saturday and Sunday morning with the “agents du jour” to help you prepare for your actual meeting later that day. The calendar may fill after the first day. Yes, attendees have signed with literary agents at our events, and continued on to get publishing deals.
The daily (optional) Keynote Speaker Address is a relaxed social environment where you can learn more about the craft and/or business of writing from an industry expert while you enjoy a complimentary light lunch with beverages. Meet a different speaker each day.
Attendees also have access to Resource Row to network with industry resources, receive information and special deals on related services and products including books, CDs, MP3s, software, and other programs of interest to writers.
