Description

The KABAM! festival began in 2005 with a shoestring budget and a desire to share a love of books and literacy with the Kingman area. Soon after, the poetry slam competition, complete with cash prizes, was added.

Since then, KABAM! has grown to include both local and nationally acclaimed authors, poets, and artists in a friendly, open setting. Local schools work in conjunction to bring our authors and poets into the classroom to share their experience and knowledge. Festival grants assist with these visits and with providing books to our schools.

In 2017 we expanded the festivities and added a conference aimed at the writing community. For a reasonable fee, writers both new and advanced are invited to join breakout sessions with our knowledgeable faculty consisting of authors, publishers, and marketing specialists.

But no matter how much we grow or how many events we add, at our core, KABAM! will always be about the love of books.
