Description
Enjoy a month-long program with your cohort from the comfort of home.
The Virtual Summer Fiction Workshop includes two full manuscript Team Readings by both TWH Consulting Director Scott Wolven and TWH Director Shanna McNair; one before the program and one after the program. Team Readings are a hallmark of TWH, and writers can expect hundreds of comments that range from micro to macro, from craft to the overall narrative. The Summer Workshop also includes separate focused readings during the workshop in August. Each participant will read their fellow workshop writers’ work and make comments in advance. These workshop groups will be intimate and generative.
During the Summer Workshop, writers will practice pitching their manuscripts to Scott and Shanna—and hone in on how to best pitch during the Agent Pitching Sessions. We anticipate at least ten agents will hear pitches one-on-one via Zoom. At the end of the month, there will be two participant readings on Zoom. Scott and Shanna will host interactive reading performance labs to prepare writers for their readings. Family and friends will certainly be invited, along with the general public. This is a wonderful capstone and underscores a month of dedication.
