Edmonds has a casual, picturesque small-town atmosphere coupled with breathtaking views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. The endless charm of the city's downtown core is found in its eclectic restaurants, shops, boutiques and pubs, all within walking distance of forested hiking trails, beaches and the Washington State Ferry terminal. Edmonds is also home to Whale Watching excursion company, Puget Sound Express, an underwater dive park, and is a popular bird-watching destination to observe the many species of birds from the Edmonds Marsh, waterfront parks and forested trails.
If you are looking for something beyond Edmonds, Seattle and Everett are home to many arts organizations, sporting events, quaint neighborhoods, downtown attractions, as well as opportunities to enjoy the out-of-doors. Of particular interest to many who visit our area are Everett's Future of Flight Aviation Center, Boeing Tour, Flying Heritage and Combat Armor Museum and the Historic Flight Foundation. Write on the Sound writers’ conference (WOTS), presented the first full weekend in October in Edmonds WA, is a high quality, affordable conference focused on the craft of writing. Over 30 sessions, workshops and panel discussions are available for all levels and interests, including valuable information regarding today’s writing and publishing industry. A limited admission of approximately 275 attendees makes WOTS the perfect place to spark your creativity, share ideas and network with other writers. WOTS is a program of The City of Edmonds Arts Commission.
