The Writer's Hotel is a hybrid writers conference that meets each June at a floating campus between five hotels in Midtown, Manhattan. TWH is not just another writers conference. We work with each writer on their writing from the moment of acceptance.

Admission Fees

SPACE IS LIMITED. The application deadline is March 9, or when our program is fills up. We close our application portal when we are full. We're getting applications from all over the world, and we're excited to read your writing sample, too. To apply, send the first 5000 words of a prose manuscript or the first 15 poems of a poetry manuscript. International applications are welcome. It is $30 to apply. Our conference fee is $3000 and includes all pre-conference services.

THE WRITER’S HOTEL IS A SPECIAL HYBRID WRITERS CONFERENCE. The Writer’s Hotel “Mini MFA” is a one-of-a-kind conference. We work with writers of fiction, poetry and nonfiction. TWH Editors read and consult on each writer’s full length manuscript pre-conference, followed by a week-long conference in June, set at Midtown hotels: The Library Hotel, The Bryant Park Hotel, The Algonquin Hotel, The Roger Smith Hotel and The Casablanca Hotel. On site events include workshops, lectures and agent pitch sessions. And each writer reads their own original work at landmark NYC venues: KGB Bar, The Red Room at KGB Bar, Bowery Poetry or The Cornelia Street Café. From our virtual pre-reading process through to our on-site, week-long NYC writers conference, TWH takes writers and their writing to the next level. Via TWH, writers bring their work from desk to marketplace at the heart of the publishing industry.

TWH 2018 Faculty includes Sapphire, Naomi Shihab Nye, Marie Howe, Taylor Mali, Cornelius Eady, Meghan Daum, Elizabeth Hand, Rob Spillman, Marion Winik, Kimiko Hahn, Tim Seibles, Dinaw Mengestu, Jill Bialosky, Elyssa East, Carey Salerno, Erin Harris, Melissa Faliveno, Dana Isokawa, Scott Wolven and Shanna McNair.
