Entry Fees

$7.00 per individual submission - If the submission fee is a barrier to your participation in the Awards, we will waive the fee when you submit a Fee Waiver Form.

Teens in grades 7-12 (ages 13 and up) can apply in 28 categories of art and writing.


$1,000 scholarship (6 Awards available)


The Civic Expression Award offers scholarships to six students whose art or writing works explore political or social issues. Submit your work to any category in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. At the end of your application, opt in to the Civic Expression Award. You will be prompted to include a personal statement on your work.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. Submissions for the 2021 Scholastic Awards open on September 1, 2020.
