GRAND PRIZE: The Grand Prize winner will receive US $100, a full reading and critique of her entire manuscript by a MORWA Published Author, a certificate, and a "Gateway to the Best Grand Prize Winner" electronic banner announcing the win for the author's website. First, second, and third places are awarded in each category. Description
The Gateway to the Best Contest is hosted by the Missouri Romance Writers of America. All entries must have a romance that is central to the story with the exception of the young adult (YA) category which emphasizes the characters’ growth as they overcome conflict and may or may not include a romantic relationship.
The annual Gateway to the Best Contest is open to all authors unpublished and not contracted in novel-length fiction (over 40,000 words) within the last three years from July 23, 2014. Self-published authors will be considered eligible to enter the Gateway contest with any unpublished work. MORWA will consider any work available for purchase online or in print at any time to be published and ineligible.
