This contest requires a $1 fee to enter. This fee helps us offer a cash prize, and supports the work of reading and narrowing down the hundreds of submissions we receive in every contest.
If circumstances do not allow you to comfortably pay, let us know—send us a note and, in most cases, we will be able to waive the $1 fee.
Payment can be sent via Paypal using this link: https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8f9coAj9xn
Be sure to include your name in the notes field when sending payment.
One winner will receive $100 and the winning piece will be published in our forthcoming Food Issue.
Three runners up will also be published and will receive $25.
We are accepting entries of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, or other written work on the theme of TASTE—whatever that means to you.
Please limit each submission to 3,000 words or fewer. Work that has appeared on a personal blog will be eligible.
Limit one entry per person. If there are multiple components to an entry—several poems, say, or a series of vignettes—we will assume that they are meant to be published as a whole and will judge them on that basis.
Submissions will close Friday, February 21 at 11:59pm.
Drop us a line at [email protected] and we will get back to you promptly.
