Description

Killer Nashville is one of the most well-respected and growing resources for writers today. The organization not only hosts a phenomenal annual conference for writers, but is also expanding the Killer Nashville brand and resources to writers in every genre.

With its status growing to match cons like ITW and Bouchercon, Killer Nashville is taking the next step to grow its resources for all writers. The prestigious Claymore Awards have been around since 2006 and are accepting entries of the first 50 pages of any unpublished crime manuscripts from any author (published or not). Ten finalists are chosen through a blind judging process, with each finalist receiving a prize.

Judges will consider any subgenre of mystery or thriller, including political thriller, cozy, legal, police procedural, private eye, romantic suspense, paranormal mystery, and historical mystery.

The deadline to enter is April 30th, 2016 and the cost for first entry is $30, with an additional option of an entry with critique for $50.

Finalists will be announced before the Killer Nashville Writers’ Conference that begins August 18, 2016. The winner will be announced at the Killer Nashville Guest of Honor Dinner and Awards Banquet on the evening of August 20, 2016.

The conference and Killer Nashville anthology are the brainchild of Clay Stafford, who’s been named one of the top Nashville literary leaders playing “an essential role in defining which books become bestsellers” not only in middle Tennessee, but “beyond the city limits and into the nation’s book culture.”
