Entry Fees

1st Prize is $150 and publication in Issue #5; 2nd Prize is $50 and publication in Issue #5; Honorable Mentions will be published in Issue #5.

Pacifica is proud to announce that we will be holding a poetry contest for Issue #5 (Winter 2015), judged by Linda Bierds. To be considered for this contest, you must submit no more than 3 poems to this category in a single document. Authors may submit only once to this contest. Submissions containing more than 3 poems, or multiple submissions from a single author, will be deleted and the Contest Entry Fee will not be refunded. Submissions received in our general “Poetry” submission category will not be considered for this contest. A single author may submit simultaneously to both the Poetry Contest and our general “Poetry” category, as long as you submit different poems to each category. First Prize is $150 and publication in Issue #5; Second Prize is $50 and publication in Issue #5; Honorable Mentions will be published in Issue #5. Good luck!

Linda Bierds is the author of many books of poetry, including Roget’s Illusion (2014), First Hand (2005), The Profile Makers (1997), and The Ghost Trio (1994). She is the recipient of several Pushcart Prizes, as well as grants and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Ingram Merrill Foundation, the Guggenheim Foundation, the Poetry Society of America, and the MacArthur Foundation.
