Winning story will be published in the January/February 2017 edition of The Saturday Evening Post, and the author will receive $500. Five runners-up will each receive $100 and will also have their stories published online.
Description
In its nearly three centuries of existence, The Saturday Evening Post has published short fiction by a who’s who of American authors — Ray Bradbury, F. Scott Fitzgerald, William Faulkner, Louis L’Amour, Jack London, Joyce Carol Oates, Edgar Allan Poe, Anne Tyler, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., Sinclair Lewis, among many others — ultimately helping to define what it means to be an American.
Now you have the opportunity to join this illustrious lineup by entering The Saturday Evening Post’s Fifth Annual Great American Fiction Contest.
Submission guidelines
• Stories must be between 1,500 and 5,000 words in length.
• All stories must be previously unpublished.
• No extreme profanity or graphic sex scenes.
• All stories must be submitted by the author and in Microsoft Word format with author’s name, address, telephone number and email address on the first page.
• Entries should represent the highest quality fiction, regardless of genre.
