The Editors of Scribble are delighted to offer our 1st annual Short Fiction Contest for Beginning and Emerging writers.

We welcome those who have never been published and those who’ve had short fiction published up to several times to submit for the chance to win a cash prize of $200 and publication in Scribble’s January 2020 edition.

JUDGING THIS YEAR’S CONTEST IS DAVID ANSON, Professor of Language and Literature at the State University of Florida, Sarasota-Manatee.

David Anson has taught composition, literature, and creative writing at the college level for 25 years. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in Creative Writing from Eckerd College and Prescott College, respectively, and we are beyond excited to have him as our judge.

The contest opens October 1, 2019 and closes December 1, 2019. The winner will be notified before January 1, 2020.
