A Tanka is a fun form of poetry to write. It has five lines and only 31 syllables. It is structured like this:
line 1 – 5 syllables
line 2 – 7 syllables
line 3 – 5 syllables
line 4 – 7 syllables
line 5 – 7 syllables
Write about anything and for this contest have as many stanzas as you would like – just follow the format above for every stanza.
