Seeks outstanding nonfiction writing with a northwest perspective. Offers both open and student categories. All finalists will be invited to participate in a writing workshop with the contest judge. Maximum 2,000 words for the open category, 1,500 words for the student contest. Submit by regular mail.
Submit fiction, poetry or essays online between Jan. 1 and Jan. 31. Max 25 pages for fiction and nonfiction or three poems.
Free and open to the public, the conference features author readings and presentations, a film festival, fiction and poetry workshops, meet-the-author sessions and panel discussions. Featured authors and artists include Robert Pinsky, Jessica Lott, Sarah Leavitt and Brian Maxwell.
