The Aspiring Canadian Poets Contest invites unpublished Canadian writers, age 19 and older, to submit one original poem between April 1, 2013 and June 1, 2013. Contest winners will be announced in October 2013.
Enter your previously unpublished poem, short story or flash fiction. Poems up to 42 lines, short stories under 5,000 words and flash fiction under 250 words. Open to anyone age 16 and older, including non-UK applicants. See website for proper formatting.
Send up to three poems, adding up to no more than 14 pages total. The judge of the 2013 contest is Terrance Hayes. Submit online or via regular mail.
Hosted by Late Night Library, the contest awards debut fiction, nonfiction, and poetry books published between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012. Winners selected in each genre. Judged by Paul Collins (nonfiction), Leslie Jamison (fiction), and Traci Brimhall (poetry).
