Kachemak Bay Writers’ Conference*
Though it usually draws about 2,000 attendees, this conference, sponsored by Kenai Peninsula College, is sadly on hiatus for 2020 “while planning occurs to review its structure, format, and scope to ensure its sustainable future,” although the conference staff remains hopeful for the “next vibrant incarnation.”

Kauai Writers Conference*
Held in beautiful Kauai, this conference has no trouble attracting attendees or famous faculty; last year’s roster included Christina Baker Kline, Meg Wolitzer, and a slew of agents and editors from the industry.
