I’m a multigenre author and editor with fifteen years of editing, publishing, and teaching experience. I received my MFA in Creative Writing from Colorado State University and have a BA in English and Creative Writing from the University of Iowa. I spent three years as an associate editor at Colorado Review and later founded Palooka, an international literary magazine that’s been publishing for twelve years. My stories, essays, poetry, and plays have appeared in dozens of top literary magazines, and my novel, You’ve Got Something Coming, received the Black Heron Press Award for Social Fiction.
I’ve evaluated over 10,000 manuscripts of all genres and all different writing levels and have helped authors develop successful submission packages for agents and publishing houses. I’ve also taught university creative writing courses and instructed workshops, specializing in fiction and nonfiction.
