Rocaberti Writers Retreat

This six-day retreat held at Marouatte Castle in The Dordogne, France, caters to those working on a feature film, TV pilot, or book. Participants meet daily with a mentor and three other writers to workshop their projects. Choose your mentor from a roster of award-winning movie directors, producers, and screenwriters and learn how to craft a story arc, launch your writing career, and craft a pitch for producers and agents. 

Morning workshops are followed by al fresco lunch sessions on the castle’s terrace, during which writers are invited to ask questions of a different mentor every day on any aspect of writing and filmmaking. “Pitch to the Expert” sessions allow participants to receive specific feedback on their project, while an after-​dinner question-and-answer session spotlights various mentors talking about the films they’ve worked on.
