Writer’s Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices

Currently scheduled for July 30 to August 5, although dates may change.

This multi-genre writers’ retreat over several days caters exclusively to writers who identify as LGBTQ. Workshops include instruction on screenwriting, speculative fiction, young adult fiction, playwriting, poetry, fiction, and nonfiction taught by award-winning authors. Past instructors include playwrights CJ Grooms and E Infante, comedic writers Ely Kreimendahl and Shannon Kelley, and performers Timothy David Rey and Andy Winter.

“Since 2007, the Writer’s Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices has been curated by and for queer and trans writers to offer our community seven days to build their craft with workshops led by highly esteemed authors in seven genres, panel discussions and craft talks, and, maybe most importantly, to build lasting relationships and community with other queer and trans writers,” says Program Manager Chloe Feffer.
