Herring, who has an MFA in creative writing and an MA in counseling psychology, walks writers through how to work with their creative blocks instead of fighting against them. Chapter titles include “Cultivate a Relationship With Your Writing,” “Understand the Type of Block You’re Working With,” “Learn to See the Gifts of Each Writing Session,” and “Make Friends with Stress.”
She also provides a range of exercises and prompts to get any scribe past even the broadest of blocks.
